A seamless carpet transformation in NW2

Project Overview

We recently had the pleasure of transforming a beautiful home in NW2, where the centrepiece was a spacious through lounge measuring 10 x 5 metres. The client chose Alternative Flooring’s 'Anywhere Ca-rPET – Re-Set 8331', a herringbone-style carpet made entirely from recycled PET yarn. It’s a sustainable choice that goes well with both modern and traditional interiors.

To complement the look we used premium antique brass doorbars and worked around some standout features in the room, including traditional school-style radiators. The project required a skilled installation to deliver a clean, seamless finish.

The Installation Process

With a large open-plan space, we started by laying 6mm flooring-grade plywood to even out the subfloor and give us a solid  base for the double stick installation.

For a neat and secure finish we also used blind gripper rods keeping any fixings hidden so that the herringbone weave could really shine. In a room of this length the lighting will pick up any indentations or unevenness so the steps above are crucial to achieve the best possible finish.

Challenges & Solutions

One of the more challenging aspects of the installation was fitting neatly around the traditional radiators. With years of experience our team made sure everything was aligned and secure without compromising on style.

The Outcome

The herringbone weave flows beautifully from end to end, and the brass doorbars add a touch of sophistication. The room feels not only more refined but also more comfortable and inviting. The client was thrilled and we were proud to deliver exactly what they envisioned, down to the smallest detail.
