A carpet installation journey in North West London
Project Overview
We recently had the pleasure of transforming a home in North West London with a beautifully fitted carpet. Covering multiple rooms, landings, and a staircase, the project featured a stunning stair runner that brought warmth and character to the space.
The client chose Unnatural – New England – Woodstock carpet, paired with Cotton Herringbone – Arabica binding and Premier - Antique Bronze doorbars, creating a seamless and stylish finish throughout their home.
The Installation Process
From the start, we understood the installation required extra care and precision. To achieve the best results we improved the condition of the subfloors by installing flooring grade plywood to ensure a solid and stable base for the carpet installation. This allowed us to use the double stick method, which enhances durability and ensures a secure fit.
To work around the client’s schedule and the manufacturing of the bound stair runner, we carried out the installation in three carefully planned phases. Given the unique nature of the carpet, we paid close attention to every detail. We used blind gripper rods for a neat, secure installation and Cloud 9 Contract underlay for added comfort and longevity.
Challenges & Solutions
The stair runner, in particular, required a meticulous approach. Matching the pattern and ensuring a tight, consistent fit was key to achieving a polished look. We carefully templated and installed each section to minimise visible breaks and prevent the cut ends from fraying, delivering a flawless result.
The Outcome
The finished project exceeded expectations. The new carpet flowed seamlessly from room to room, and the stair runner became a real feature of the home, both stylish and secure. Our client was delighted with the transformation, and we couldn’t have been happier to bring their vision to life.
