Stairway Transformation: North London Faux-Sisal Stair Runner

Project Overview

We recently completed a staircase project for a client in N19 using Anywhere Ca-rPET; Re-New 8302 from Alternative Flooring. The design was chosen for its versatility and clean, contemporary look, finished with a whipped edge in a colour matched tone for an elegant cohesive appearance. The project included two flights of stairs fitted as a runner, with the landings fully covered to create a seamless finish throughout.

Installation Process

This staircase carpet installation was completed in carefully planned phases. All flat areas, including the landings, were fully adhered to provide a smooth, secure fit and a clean appearance. To further enhance the finish, we installed 6mm ply on all landings, creating a level surface and improving the overall result. The runner was finished with a colour-matched whipped edge, adding a subtle, tailored detail that complements the carpet design.

Our Approach

A key element of this project was achieving a consistent flow between the stair runner and the fully fitted landings.

Through careful planning and detailed fitting techniques, we ensured a seamless transition between each section. The use of ply on the landings helped eliminate unevenness, allowing for a more professional finish.

Outcome

The client was extremely pleased with the result. The naturalistic effect of the faux-sisal runner, combined with the home’s neutral colours, created a warm and calming aesthetic throughout the space.
