Natural Sisal Herringbone Stair Runner

For this project, our client wanted a stair runner that felt natural and understated while complementing the staircase's existing character. They chose the Sisal Herringbone in Harestock 4423 from Alternative Flooring, a textured, natural carpet with a timeless herringbone pattern. For a subtle touch of colour, the runner was finished with Herringbone binding in Pear from Jaspa Binding Tapes. The combination creates a simple yet elegant finish that works well with the white-painted staircase.

Installation Process

Once the selection was made, our team carefully measured the stairs before cutting and preparing the runner to achieve a precise, clean fit. The sisal herringbone carpet was installed and finished with the contrasting binding, creating neat edges and consistent lines throughout the flights of stairs.

Outcome

The finished staircase demonstrates how simple materials and thoughtful detailing can transform a space. The natural texture of the sisal provides warmth and character, while the Pear binding tape adds contrast. This sophisticated stair runner feels both practical and decorative, complementing the staircase and hallway perfectly.
