Client stories: A showstopping stair runner in Kew
Project Overview
We worked recently with a client in Kew who wanted a stair runner that would blend seamlessly with their existing décor and wood finishes. Having found us on Google, they were impressed by the look of our runners, and booked a home visit through our online form. From the moment we stepped into their home, the mission was clear. A stair runner featuring classic patterns and colours, with timeless appeal, brought to life through a combination of materials and detailing.
The Installation Process
We carried out the full consultation in the client’s home, which allowed them to view samples and colour combinations in the space itself. The choice was New England – Bar Harbour from Unnatural Flooring, paired with Durbury B – Tiverton binding from Jaspa Binding Tapes, and finished with Homepride Pewter stair rods from Stairrods UK.
The installation was completed in two carefully planned phases. The first phase was to create a template to ensure a perfect fit. Then we returned to install the runner and stair rods.
Challenges and Solutions
Striking the perfect balance of colours to enhance the décor and highlight the rich woodwork took some careful consideration. By being able to review options directly in our client's home, we could see exactly how the shades would work together in natural light, ensuring that the final choice was seamless and elegant.
The Outcome
The result was a beautifully fitted stair runner that the client described as an “absolute showstopper”. The classic pattern and thoughtful detailing have transformed the staircase into a warm, inviting focal point for the home.
Here’s what our client had to say
“Steve! You and Jamie have made my Christmas. Thank you so much. She’s an absolute showstopper. I hope you are pleased with it also.”
